    Free Wi-Fi from CLEAR
We are excited to announce that CLEAR will be providing free wireless internet access for both the Uniview User Group and the Western Alliance Conference at the Mayborn Planetarium as well as the Killeen Civic and Conference Center. Be sure to talk to them and see what they have to offer, and thank them for their support!

    Student Track Cancelled
With regret, we must cancel the student track due to timing and support issues. We will attempt to stage a similar event at a later date, but unfortunately we could not pass all logistics hurdles in time for the end of school year announcements. Vendors and delegates are welcome to contact us if they would like to join us for this in the future.

    Maureen Adams to speak!
Our local Teacher in Space, the enthusiastic Maureen Adams, will be joining us at the WAC for a lunch-time talk and possibly more! Possible topics include Sub-Orbital missions, and her successes in the program and the classroom. She is a valued treasure here in the Killeen area, and one of the most up-beat people on the planet. She also happens to be in our dome right now very ironically watching Astronaut. More info and bio to come.

    SpaceX visit Approved!
WAC2011 will include a visit to the 700 acre SpaceX engine test facility in McGregor TX. The facility is about 45 minutes away. Participation will be limited to 30 very lucky US Citizens with valid ID. There are specific logistical issues to be arranged for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. More information will be provided as we get closer to the event. The visit will be after lunch on Friday, July 29th.

    Planning Continues...
We have entered our new fiscal year, and are putting some numbers together in an effort to determine sponsorship levels and conference fees. We hope to keep the costs down to attract many participants to what will surely be an excellent conference. We have gone to many conferences and spoken to folks about what works and what doesn't. We are applying what we've learned and seen, and we are excited about hosting the WAC in 2011.

    Planning for WAC2011
Planning is going very well. We have blocked out hotel rooms and the conference center, and we've reserved time in the dome for the conference as well as vendor setup. There are additional co-located events that are being explored, including a mini WAC for local students to find out about the technology and opportunities in the field.

The new face of the WAC.
In preparation for WAC2011, it seemed to make sense to create a website that could be shared and updated into the future. Linking to the 2010 conference site and providing more info as we go, WACdomes.org is the new face of the Western Alliance Conference.
